Great Holiday Wardrobe Tips

The holidays are just around the corner. Many of you might already be shopping or even rummaging through your closet for outfits to wear during the many different events that you would be invited in. You might also want to get dressed for the holidays just for the fun of it. Here are some tips that you might find useful when choosing a whole wardrobe just for the holidays.

  • List all the events and activities that you would be doing for the duration of the season. Do not forget to include even the smallest parties you are invited to join in. Through this list, you would be able to know how many outfits you would need to prepare, what type of clothes you should be wearing and what accessories would go with them.
  • Choose neutral colors as they can be mixed and matched with any bright hues or prints that usually come in season during the holidays. Besides black, you can also go for gray, olive or even navy. These colors are perfect on slacks, jeans, cords, and skirts. If you are going to attend a lot of formal events, you might want to consider having different styles to choose from with these base colors. Black shoes are still also the best when it comes to being paired with different shades of clothes and accessories. Having neutral shades would make you avoid bad comments from a fashion critic.
  • Aside from the neutral colors, you should also have a signature color for your holiday style. Most people usually choose the color red as it signifies the holiday pretty well. But, you can also go for other festive colors for your tops, ties, bags and other accessories. In this way, you would not have a hard time pairing them up with the other pieces in your holiday wardrobe as they have similar shades.
  • During the holidays, you might be asked to attend more than one event in one day. To avoid going home to change in another outfit, think about layering instead. Wear your shirt plus sweater during the day events and put on a jacket or a coat at night parties. This would also let you be ready for any temperature or weather change.
  • Speaking of the weather, you would need to fill part of your wardrobe with outerwear that are fitting for the winter. You should have choices of coats, wraps, parkas, and others to avoid wearing the same outerwear for many times in a week. When you shop for your holiday outfits, do not forget to include these clothes, especially if you would need to be doing some activities outdoor a lot.

Choose fabrics that would keep you warm through harsh weather conditions, yet still be comfortable for you to wear. Also try to look for clothes made of materials that are easy to clean and maintain.
